It has been a while so I thought I would at least let the one or two readers out there know I am still alive. I have been posting on our family blog and left this one to be unattended. I am not sure my life is interesting enough to keep a blog going....I will have to think about it.

For now, I leave you with this- a good tip on how to secure employment in turbulent times:

A few pics...

I was looking through my pictures and thought I would throw a few up.

Lindsey and Cayden have made it up the mountain a few times this winter and apparently this kid has taken to the snow pretty naturally. I have yet to leave the smog-filled valley but hopefully will be able to in the near future.

This was after our walk through the open house at the Draper Temple. Cayden was a big fan of the chandelier in the Celestial Room....and the cookies.

The big man on his way out the door for preschool. I love hearing his stories he comes home with. The other day he said one of the boys told him that if he goes in a big plane, he will crash and be dead. On a lighter note, he has been telling us that "Mithconsin makes cheese" and more importantly, "Disneyland is in California".

My, how time flies!!

Linds just got some pictures taken of Cayden by Anya. She did a great job, by the way.

I was just looking through some old pictures of Cayden and comparing them with his new ones. It is hard to believe that 2 1/2 years ago this weekend we were welcoming, a little early mind you, our little boy into the world.

Cayden is such a wonderful boy. I know I am a biased parent but he is one of a kind. It has everything to do with the influence Lindsey is on him. She is such a great mommy.

Apparently someone feels they have figured out the secret to a good marriage. Watch the video below and see for yourself.

"I Go Bonk"

My little boy is a big sports fan. He especially loves watching football on TV. Without fail, if a football game is on TV, he will run and get his baseball helmet (closest thing he has to a football helmet) and his football and mimic what the players are doing on the TV. He bends down to hike the ball, waits for the QB on TV to hike it, and he jumps up and starts running around. It is fun to watch. This last Sunday, he decided to add a new accessory to his football attire.....cowboy boots. Random, I know, but apparently he thinks that is what the big boys wear.

I tell you this, in part, to help explain what happened on Sunday evening. Cayden had just finished up a mean session of football in the living room and came upstairs to see what we were doing. He was wearing his helmet, fashionable cowboy boots (looks great with sweat pants, I might add) and carrying his big football. I came walking out of our room just as Cayden was starting down the stairs. He usually slides down on his tush...not this time. He was trying to negotiate the first step while holding on to the railing. He started to fall forward so I reached out to grab him....and missed. He toppled end over end, bouncing from side to side, down the stairs and landed head first on the slate tile at the bottom. I ran down the stairs, seamlessly in slow motion, behind him as he took the plunge. I expected the worst when I reached the bottom. The cries were instant (from Cayden- although I felt like crying) and as I picked him up, the only blood I saw was the small amount coming from his tongue. The semi over sized but durable tee-ball helmet was the difference between a little blood from his tongue and brain matter spilled out all over the floor. We were able to calm him down and give a thorough inspection to make sure all his limbs were still bending the way they are supposed to.

Cayden survived is first fall down the stairs. I have had a hard time getting the image out of my mind. It is amazing how tough little kids are. It's a miracle that they don't end up with more injuries. I better find some wood and knock on it.

I would like to say that my little all star was able to hold onto the football during his fall, but unfortunately he fumbled it. We will need to work on that.

Say Cheese!!

I was just looking through some pictures on my computer and had a good laugh. Cayden has the funniest "smile" when he is taking pictures. It is nothing like his actual smile but when you tell him to say cheese for the camera, he pulls out this hilarious half smile. Take a look for yourself....
